In case you haven’t noticed, I’m am thrilled to be officially launching my Flat Belly Detox to the masses this November! I get a handful of questions from folks before they decide to jump in, so I thought I’d create this post to address the questions I get so that (hopefully) it helps you decide if this program can help you.
If you have any questions beyond what is listed here, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me through the contact page in this blog or via a direct message to either Facebook or Instagram.
A: If you are in the US, you bet I will! All kits are shipped via USPS priority mail in biodegradable and recycled package. If you are outside the US, I’m sorry, I haven’t figured that out just yet.
A: I generally recommend you allow about a week from when you order your kit to when it will arrive. But it really does depend quite a bit on the coaching schedule as well as my production timelines. In the product description, I will note anything out of the ordinary. After the kit ships, I will provide you with a USPS tracking number so you will know exactly when to expect it. You also have instant access to all the guides, recipes, food lists the minute you confirm your order. So you can start prepping your body and your kitchen for your detox and be ready to go when it arrives.
A: Yes. As a lover of daily coffee myself, I could find no reason to remove it from the plan for a limited time. Caffeine withdrawals are no joke. There is not enough science to indicate why our how this would be beneficial in the long run. In fact, coffee itself has some polyphenol/antiinflammatory benefits.
That said, you do need to keep it “moderate” and I say limit to 1-2 cups per day. You also need to watch what you add to your coffee and stick to the list of detox approved foods (no diary or added sugar, but plenty of plant based milk and healthier sweetener options)
A: I think one of the best benefits to this plan is that you are in control of what you eat. There is a list of detox approved foods and when they are allowed throughout the plan. So you can start with the suggested meal plan and swap out foods to suit your preferences or specific dietary needs.. So even the pickiest of eaters should find quite a bit of joy in this plan and maybe even discover some new foods they didn’t know they would or could enjoy..
But as a disclaimer, this is metabolic detoxification through food. So the food us going to be “healthy.” This means very veggie heavy, with whole grains, healthy fats and small amounts of select, lean proteins. There is no dairy, gluten, added sugar or saturated fats.
So if you’re a picky eater in that you don’t like vegetables and only eat pizza, steaks and lasagna, you will likely struggle on this plan. But that does not mean I think you shouldn’t try it or wouldn’t have amazing results. I just want you to know what you’re in for. It’s possible you’ve just yet to try delicious plant forward recipes and/or don’t yet know how good you will feel when you shift your diet.
A: Well, I’m certainly not here to disagree with your doctor, but I would ask him/her to clarify the definition of “detox.” In a traditional sense, it could mean something as extreme as a fast or very limited energy/nutrition like a green juice cleanse. I would have to agree, those are debatably “dangerous” and can deliver questionable and unsustainable results.
This plan is quite the opposite in that you’re loading your body with the highest quality foods on the planet and giving it a rest from toxicity so that it can clean up and function better. We’re limiting inflammatory foods and loading up on anti-inflammatory plant compounds which will benefit your body on a cellular level. This is leveraging food as medicine so you live well and feel great.
I would suggest everyone take a copy of this plan to talk with their doctor and make the best decision based on your specific health needs. I also feel fairly confident that you’d be hard pressed to find an MD out there who would question the nutritional fortitude and health benefits of this plan.
A: I don’t. And it’s not because I don’t know, it’s because I don’t think it matters. Crazy, right? But that is the largest benefit to unprocessed/plant forward eating. When you shift your focus to WHAT you are eating, the HOW MUCH becomes much less relevant.
It’s difficult to “binge” when you’re following an unprocessed/plant forward diet. When you stop tricking your body with highly processed foods, artificial ingredients and fake sugars, it starts to relax and respond to true hunger cues, not cravings.
At the heart of calorie counting is a sense of deprivation. And it’s a pain in the a** to do. So instead of counting out 37 goldfish crackers as a snack, why don’t we just learn to pick a better snack and have as much of it as your body wants?
This is not a nutritionally restricted plan. You can eat as much of any of the detox approved foods whenever your body calls for it. The workbook is designed to support you in tracking and understanding your hunger cues so you can begin to trust your body’s needs. It’s awesome and can be life changing.
What has been most surprising to me is the crazy results my already “dietarily advanced” friends have been getting. Myself included. I’ve tried to lose these 7 lbs for the past 4 years, and this plan just evaporated them. While results will of course, vary for everyone, I encourage you to read the reviews on the product description. Even if weight loss isn’t a goal of yours, cleaning up your diet can leave you feeling brighter and more energized. Plus, these recipes are simple and delicious. You’ll be able to add them to your rotation, where you’ll see health benefits well beyond these 10 days.
It’s going to be different for everyone for a variety of different reasons. But you can expect to experience things like weight loss (3-12 lbs), better sleep, more energy, clearer skin, better mood and the development of new, sustainable healthy eating habits.
